Gyre Cleanup Project

We are about cleaning up The North Pacific Gyre

I figure one step is to know as many of the folks on the same mission as possible. Would everybody who knows of a/any other group(s) please post?

Yea I think that raising awareness and coming together is very important. I'm Starting a facebook group, which is a little similar to this, to raise awareness as well.

Should prob check out the existing facebook pages as well. If you search "North Pacific Gyre" in facebook you'll find at least four, one of which has several thousand fans. Rich has also started a cause on facebook regarding the issue, and I suspect the most valuable service would be to get that rolling. I have also created a smaller group, mainly geared around folks who would be willing to actually go and do the cleanup or support a group who would, if you search "the sovereign fleet" in facebook you'll find us. We're a pretty rag-tag bunch, but ya gots ta start sumwere. Greetings and thanks to ye from the goodwill pirates of the Sovereign Fleet :)

Are you now searching nationally or internationally on organisations? As this problem requires an international cooperation, starting with the consumption of the plastic to the collecting of money to clean the ocean.

Check out our group, The GP2 Project, creating global green expeditions cleaning up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and join our community on Ning, too.

Check out the "Communities" link on our website.

Tweet about us on Twitter.

Join one of our existing teams or create your own team for any area of participation in The GP2 Project that calls to you. Creating collaboration between The Gyre Cleanup and The GP2 Project and other clean-up groups could be YOUR calling! If it is, let us know!

Thank you so much for already caring about this vital issue!

Let's work together to cause global teams and teamwork and get this cleaned up now!
